The Fry’s Spring neighborhood is a very popular place to live in the city of Charlottesville and is named after the original owner of its two natural springs.

The Fry’s Springs neighborhood is made up of .7 square miles with a population of 3,377 as of 2022.

Originally Azalea Hall Plantation, the owners began selling off lots near the two springs after the Civil War, as Charlottesville was pretty much a broken southern town.

The springs are still used today to fill the pools at the 100-year-old Fry’s Spring Beach Club (which is private but has no admissions hassles).
