The Dunlora neighborhood is located northwest of the City of Charlottesville with easy access to the Rt. 29 shopping corridor. There are 190 townhomes in the Dunlora(s) as I will call them which includes Dunlora, Dunlora Forest, Dunlora Gates, Dunlora Park, and Shepherd’s Ridge at Dunlora (which is in Dunlora but a separate luxury townhome community). Of the 190 townhomes, there are only 12 luxury townhomes.

My Thoughts – I love the Dunlora neighborhood. It’s attractive with amenities and great walking trails. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance lifestyle in a convenient location, consider buying a luxury townhome in one of Charlottesville’s many desirable neighborhoods. There are many reasons to choose a townhome in Dunlora. They are a great option for people who are looking for a low-maintenance lifestyle in a convenient location and a good option for people who are downsizing but still desire all the luxuries of a single-family home.
I am not in love with the other neighborhoods around Dunlora which includes Dunlora Forest, Dunlora Gates, and Dunlora Park since a new development might be going up directly across the street from these neighborhoods. The noise and traffic will be intolerable.
Note – Dunlora was once a fine 18th-century plantation located on the South Rivanna River. It still stands today and the Dunlora neighborhood surrounds it.
