White Gables II HOA fees as of 2024 are $746 a month and a $2,500 Association Setup/Transfer fee.

White Gables Charlottesville History

White Gables was one of several magnificent homes built by Charlottesville businessman, J.H. Rinehart Sr., in the 1920s.

Around the same time, Rinehart built other mansions next to White Gables. Kenridge (now known as Colridge), and Boxwood.

Rinehart also built the Paramount Theater and National Bank Building on Charlottesville’s Historic Downtown Mall and owned the Birdwood Estate across the street, now owned by UVA.

Albemarle County Public Schools serve White Gables with Murray Elementary, Henley Middle, and Western Albemarle High. One of the best private schools in Charlottesville is St. Anne’s Belfield, which is minutes away.

My thoughts: While buying a condo at White Gables is going to be expensive, I think the location is one of the best in Virginia. Although it lacks amenities such as a pool or tennis court, you are surrounded by two marvelous country clubs (one private Farmington Country Club and one public Boar’s Head Inn Resort). I give White Gables Charlottesville & its newer sister development, White Gables II Charlottesville, a 10 out of 10.
